Hey Ya'll,
Buddy is doing well. His hooves have dried up nicely and he no longer has thrush. The little stinker won't eat his supplements. I've tried wetting his food (that makes the supplements stick to the sweet feed) and I tried mixing it in apple sauce. So I'm switching him over to something called Fast track. It's some great stuff. It not only takes care of his hooves but his coat, mane and tail, and joints. I'm starting it this Saturday. He is now also loosing his winter coat. I'm gonna start exercising and working him. He has gotten really fat. So they bumped down his feed down to a handful. I've been getting on him and been working on disengaging his hindquarters on his back and flexion. On the ground I'm now working on some more flexion and other exercises that will help him move easier. I take him up to Benny and Rebel's old pasture and let him graze on a twenty-two foot line. I also let him loose in the arena and he'll roll when he's feeling good. He'll follow me around like a little dog. That's sometimes how i exercise him. If i run he'll canter after me. The cool thing is i don't use treats to get him to follow me. Other then that he's doing great.

Hey Ya'll,
Sorry i haven't posted for awhile, I've been busy. Buddy is doing fine. The canker did clear up and his hoof is back to normal. I'm now giving him hoof supplements to prevent anymore problems. It's called Focus HF plus I'm giving him flax seed (to help with omega 3) and some salt (he doesn't drink a lot of water which is bad because he could get colic more easily, so the salt will make him want to drink more). I started last week so hopefully I'll see an improvement on Saturday. I've been washing his feet and scrubbing them then pat drying them and applying thrush medicine to keep all of that under control. I got him a really great thrush medicine called Koropox and it works great it clears it up real fast. We've been doing parelli a lot lately and he's gotten really good at it. He can disengage his front and rear quarters no problem, backup, lead, lunge, and halter much better. I've been taking him trail riding a lot lately bareback and i ended up getting him a parreli natural hackamore so we've been having a lot of fun. I also take him up to Benny and rebels old pasture to get some great thick grass and he enjoys that a lot. I got him some great treats too (they're his favorite). Of course some fly spray, it's that time of year again. I had to worm him last saturday as well.
